Experience the magic of Blackpool Illuminations, a spectacular celebration of light, art and entertainment that has been lighting up the town since 1879.
Every year, Blackpool’s famous seafront is transformed into a dazzling world of colour and creativity. The festivities begin with the spectacular Switch-On Festival Weekend, bringing celebrity appearances, live entertainment and specially created Illumination performances to the town.
The excitement continues into October with LightPool Festival, where stunning light installations, immersive artworks and creative performances create a spectacular walking trail through Blackpool’s iconic landmarks and historic streets.
Whether you’re visiting with family, friends or loved ones, Blackpool Illuminations offers an unforgettable evening of entertainment, creativity and lights by the sea.
The Blackpool Illuminations are one of the most famous light displays in the world, stretching over 6 miles along the seafront promenade with more than a million bulbs. They typically run from late August through to early January.
